All There is to Know About Me!
My name is Alexandra Zugaj, but my friends and family call me Ola. Why Ola? My family is from Poland and most Alexandra's go by Ola, not sure what the history behind it is though. I am a senior at North Central College with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. My future goals include becoming a physical therapist for children with autism. I am currently waiting to hear back from several physical therapy programs.
On campus I am involved in a variety of organizations. I am a defensive specialist on the women's volleyball team. I work as event staff for the athletics department as well as the conference services and conferences department. I am also on staff with the theater department as production staff. Off campus I am also involved in several jobs. I work as a physical therapy technician in a clinic here in Naperville. I also am a volleyball coach for a twelve year old team in Des Planes, IL.
From a young age, I was immersed in art. I started taking art classes when I turned three years old. I learned how to draw, paint, sculpt, etc. I believe these experience led to my admiration for animation. I have always been amazed by the work and skill needed to complete an animated film especially before technological advancements. One of my favorite animated movies is The Little Mermaid. I loved the attention to detail in all the scenes and characters of the film. I was and still am completely amazed by the work.
I am looking forward to learning more about what it entails to make a film. How to make it special? Unforgettable? Life changing? I am also interested to see the evolution of film over the years. I know I will enjoy the lectures and discussions in this class, and am looking forward to it!
I think it is very cool that you are getting a minor in Psychology because I am as well. It is very interesting to me that you want to be a physical therapist and work with children with autism. The Little Mermaid is a great animated movie and it is super fun to watch all the different scenes in it.
ReplyDeleteYour admiration for animation is interesting! I never knew you were interested in that. I never thought of how much time and effort an animation film actually takes. I guess I thought because it was animation and not real people acting it was easier to do? But really it is more difficult!
ReplyDeleteI think that it's amazing you were able to turn your love of playing volleyball into coaching and helping others find that same passion for it! I also think its really interesting to think about how much hands on artistic exposure you had so young and how that was able to translate into animation, which is just a virtual version of those skills you learned.
